Abstract

In the Telecommunication environment, OFDM used as a standard of development technology. In this final project, the author simulated OFDM system over AWGN channel and multipath Rayleigh fading channel. The simulation using 16-QAM and variation of the guard interval with the number of IFFT operation set to 64 in the computer simulation software. Variation of the guard interval includes 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Multipath Rayleigh fading channel, include one-path, two-path, three-path, and four-path Rayleigh fading channel. BER and SER used as a parameter of OFDM transmission system. From the simulation data, the author got the BER and SER value in AWGN channel and multipath Rayleigh fading channel. Simulation over AWGN resulted BER and SER value lower than over multipath Rayleigh fading channel. In multipath Rayleigh fading, variation of BER and SER value is relatively based on changes in the value of Ebn0 and attenuation caused by multipath fading environment.
