Abstract

Ball on plate is the intelligent control system to drive the ball above the plate with the desired movement patterns without dropping the ball. This system is controlled by two servo motors (two degree of freedom) as an actuator to control the position of the ball and a resistive touch screen as the sensor position of the ball. Resistive touch screen will convert pixels (the position of the ball) into the shape of the output voltage the position X and Y, through 2 channels of analog to digital conversion (ADC), an Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller form a close loop control system. This paper will discuss about electronic circuits supporting in the ball on plate balancing system primarily to gain speed and accuracy in reading the ADC microcontroller on a variety of the inertia moment of the ball. The parameters of the noise rejection became the most important part in the electronic circuits, if the system implemented without electronic circuit supporting then the noise from servo motor will affect the performance of the main power supply or analog input voltage. The disturbance from analog input voltage automatically affect the digital output voltage so that it required electronic circuit supporting in order to stabilize the results of reading the ADC in the resistive touch screen.
