Abstract
An insurance company is an entity that shares some of the risk its client has by disbursing claim as asked by the client and, in turn, imposes a premium, which is a fee that it receives for that service it does. Naturally, the level of premium and claim would effect an insurance company`s financial standing: Its EBIT (Earnings Before Income Tax). Nonetheless , their exact effect toward EBIT is still somewhat vague. This particular study tries to clarify that vagueness, i.e., to ascertain the level of effect premium and claim each has toward EBIT, and also their parallel (or simultaneous) effect toward EBIT. The obejctive is to find out the correlation among the above factors, using samples of six insurance company, involving a descriptive quantitative method. The analytical procedure employed involves constructing hypotheses and testing them with the aid of t- and F- tests. The conclusion of the study is premium and claim affect insurance companies` EBIT, both individually and simultaneously.
