Abstract

Production planning is a medium-term strategy that can be optimized implementation by the industry. High productivity explains that the performance of production planning has been going well. Determination of the optimal amount of labor to produce one unit of the product must also be considered scientifically and not through trial and error or intuition industry. In addition, the determination of the amount of material needs should also be planned in line with the number of orders received by the industry. If the amount of material needs are identified, then the industry can easily determine the cost of production to meet demand in order to finish on time in accordance with the time promised. The general objective to be achieved in the research is to design production planning of products make to order. The specific objectives of this study were: (1) Determine the standard time of making one unit of product by the method of clock-stop, (2) determine the optimal number of operator needs at each work station with the approach of Lang's algorithm, and (3) determine the prediction needs material quantities and costs production with dynamic system simulation approach. The results of this study are: (1) raw time to make one unit door is 279.41 minutes or 4.66 hours, (2) limited Resource Scheduling Algorithm with Lang's method showed that the time used to make one door is over 179.4 minutes. Lang's calculations using the algorithm generate production turnaround time is faster than the current conditions in the amount of 203.4 minutes and (3) the need for the material to make one door is: 0.5 plywood 16 mm, 12 mm 0.5 plywood, plywood 18 1.05 mm, and 0.15 8 nail glue and shoot. The cost required to produce one door is USD 1,033,287.50 based on the method of simulation of dynamic systems.
