Abstract

Mental revolution as a program in the era now become a reference for all public servants in performing their duties and functions, include the Government Public Relations. In order to make Indonesia a Sovereign, Independent and personality Based on the Mutual Cooperation, the government PR agencies involved in achieving that goal. One of the functions of government is nothing but a public relations to help create a society that is competitive. To be a competitive nation that takes hard work involving various stakeholders, especially the people and institutions as community partners. This study aims to find a model of information management government PR in an effort to achieve economic independence society in accordance ideals of government as outlined in the national development agenda called Revolution Mental, that build character government PR as a strong, competitive, high morals, tolerant, mutual cooperation, patriot, dynamic, culture, and science and technology-oriented. The theory used in this study is a two-way symmetric model of Grunig and Hunt. That in carrying out its functions PR is always based on research, two-way communication to get an understanding of the audience. The method used in this research is a case study, the government Public Relations of Pekalongan city as a research subjects. The results showed that government PR of Pekalongan city is actively involved in building a public communications strategy to achieve economic independence society. Various movements performed either change the level of bureaucracy, as well as track community groups so as to create public awareness. Through various media, the government PR of Pekalongan city is slowly able to encourage economic independence of people in the city of Pekalongan. Dissemination of information based on the technology used in order to support partnerships with various stakeholders so that the economy increases.
