Abstract
RFID is an application that using electromagnet wave to detect, identify and locate of the tagged object. From the latest development RFID has been implemented on a supermarket as an exchange of the barcode. But not all of the frequency range van cover this system. In UHF RFID for example, the signal that using UHF rang for RFID will decrease when the antenna is near to metal, water or biological tissue. So this research will investigate one of the mentioned material above to be tested on UHF RFID application. In this research the design of the antenna has a size of 94 x 32 mm, and was built on a 120 x 50 mm substrate with HDPE foam material. And the antenna design was simulated on CST Microwave Studio 5, and by using books as the attached product. In the antenna world, the higher working frequency require a smaller antenna size. The UHF RFID antenna tag size is also smaller than the LF and HF. One of the important thing of UHF application is the different working frequency in each country around the world. Also in indonesia, the UHF RFID frequency range has been set by Depkominfo. The main goal of this research is to get a proper antenna tag design to be used for the desired product on indonesian UHF RFID frequency range based on the simulation of this research.
