Abstract

Academic Information System (SIA) University of Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI) at this time only uses client-server (two tier system). The existing system is difficult to be expanded if it will we developed to multi-tier systems. However, UAI would like to integrate all of information systems there have. Based on these problems, it needs to design a new architecture which is capable to handle drawbacks of the existing problems. One of the solutions is by using web service systems. Web service is decided to use on the new architecture, due to the ease in the process of data exchange ad integrate the system. In the new architecture, security aspect is going to get more attention aspecially to guarantee the authetications and confidentially aspects. Authetication process is designed as an authetications system is called MEZO. To guarantee the confidentialty aspect of information is used Advanced Encryption tandard (AES) as systemetric key encryption/descrytion technology.
