Abstract

The lack of community service in organic waste management at the JMC Islamic Boarding School in 2024-2025 has still not increased awareness for students in managing organic waste into BSF maggot cultivation. In 2026, JMC Islamic boarding schools together with Al Azhar University Indonesia will explore the integration of the circular economy curriculum in junior high school students. The purpose of this activity is to measure the knowledge, attitude and readiness of the students if the pesantren implements the circular economy curriculum. The measurement method was carried out on 91 people consisting of 46 male students, 37 female students and 8 teachers through simple statistical measurements in an interval scale using the Likert scale 1-5. The measurement results of the indicators provide an idea that the implementation of the circular economy curriculum can be integrated in several subjects such as Biology and Economics at the junior high school level. The measurement results provide an idea that students' knowledge is still low in literacy about the benefits of organic waste processing, BSF maggots as organisms that process waste and economic benefits from organic waste cultivation products.
