Abstract

This preliminary study aims to explore more interactive learning through the use of Padlet, the social media platform. This platform was chosen for its ability to connect all individuals within a specific class, regardless of their location, to interact in a single collaborative social media (platform). The study was conducted in the first and third semester of Praktik Menulis Bahasa Jepang (Japanese language class). The methodology used is a qualitative approach with participant observation and also questionaire. This approach is emploted to measure the effectiveness of Padlet in online and face-to-face learning for enhancing cross-cultural understanding. Padlet has proven to be a medium for constinously storing discussion resutls of collaborative work. Additionally, it serves as a platform for evaluation completed work and for demonstration purposes. Furthermore, this study shows that the attractive appearance of Padlet has contributed to a more meaningful learning experience and has increased student motivation.
