Abstract

The objective of this research was to examine factors that influence dividend payout ratio. The population of this study was consumer-cyclical sector companies listed on Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018 to 2021. Companies, which consistently distributed dividends in the last three years, were selected as samples. In this sector, there were nine companies were analysed with multiple linear regression. The results showed that Debt to Equity Ratio and Net Profit Margin variables had significant correlations with Dividend Payout Ratio. In this regards, Debt to Equity Ratio was negatively correlated with Dividend Payout Ratio while Net Profit Margin had a positive correlation with Dividend Payout Ratio. Other variabels such as Return on Equity, Firm Size, Free Cash Flow, and Sales Growth had little correlation with Dividend Payout Ratio.
