Abstract

Discomfort work postures can lead to various problems at work. Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) or disorders of the muscles, joints and nervous system is the most common problems that occur due to work. It can cause losses, both for workers and companies. One of the causes of musculoskeletal disorders is a work posture that is not ergonomic which can endanger the safety and health of workers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the work posture in operating the Creatics integrated waste processing machine. The methods used are Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire distribution to investigate complaints of musculoskeletal system discomfort in workers and the Ovako Working Postures Analysis System (OWAS) observation method to support the results of the NBM questionnaire to determine the risk of harm from work postures. The results obtained in this study were workers experienced complaints of pain in the back, waist, buttocks, left and right thighs, left and right knees, left calves and feet, and left and right foot. This is supported by the results of an assessment by OWAS which shows that work posture at category two, that is dangerous and need improvement in the design of Creatics machines in the future.
