Abstract
Islamic political parties in Indonesia have a very strong historical roots and a long history. It has been used to strengthen but it is now fragile and weak. Although the majority of Indonesia's population is also strengthening the Islamic political parties and the party remained stable in the middle leve. Several factors that weakening the Islamic political parties are secularism that entrenched in the country, the lack of regeneration in Indonesian Islamic party, lack of ideal Muslim political figures, and cases of radicalism. All these factors lead Islamist political parties are very difficult to disengage themselves from the pragmatism of interest and eventually ignore the ideology of Islam.
